After care and framing

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

Firstly thank you for buying one of my prints or cards! I hope you enjoy it.

All of my art is eco-friendly. The card is made from recycled material which is made from post-consumer waste, printed with non-toxic ink. They are also packaged in biodegradable home-compostable wallets and posted to you in recycled envelopes.

Here are some things you should know for looking after your prints

The wallets

The "plastic" wallets are fully biodegradable, made from clear compostable vegetable starch; annually renewable PLA derived from vegetable starches (potato, sugar beet etc).

Things to know:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to humidity - including excessive heat, moisture and light to maximise shelf life.

  • If you get any water on the wallet, wipe it off straight away to stop it from composting as this may damage your print.

What do I do with the wallet after unwrapping?

The wallets can go straight in your main rubbish bin. In commercial composting or landfill, they will break down into CO2 and water which can then be reused in the eco system to make new plants.

Framing

Below are the frames to look for depending on the size of your print. I recommend getting a frame with a card mount inside - this will give the print more space to breathe.

I.e Google: ‘A3 frame with mount for A4 print’ (always go one size up for a frame with mount)

A5 print - look for - A4 frame with mount (dims: 14x21cm)

A4 print - look for - A3 frame with mount (dims: 21x29cm)

A3 print - look for - A2 frame with mount (dims: 29x42cm)
